Welcome to my writer’s journey!
My writer’s journey began in 7th grade, when my language teacher in my mother country, Poland, noticed my writing and read it at a parent conference. I wrote a bit after that, but soon had to move to the United States with my family as political refugees (blacklisted for fighting the communists) and had to learn a new language.
About 15 years later, I tried writing again, this time screenplays. However, the agent that signed me soon folded shop, and I lost interest in writing as other, more financially viable career options presented themselves.
Another 20 years passed, and the Covid epidemic drove me to write again. I started with two non-fiction books about my engineering profession, but one of them was a business novel that sparked some creative juices in me. I decided to dust off some outlines for a novel based on my grandparents’ true story of World War II slave labor.
That’s how “Anna’s Medallion” was born. But that wasn’t the first novel I wrote. I actually wrote two thrillers first because that’s what inspired me at the time, and it was good practice before writing about my grandparents.
Only after gaining some confidence did I decide to write “Anna’s Medallion.” In the end, it became the first novel I self-published (in March of 2025).
Then, I turned my attention back to what interested me to write when I was younger, which was thrillers, science fiction, historical fiction, and fantasy (it was also westerns and pirate stories, but let’s forget that for a moment).
I wrote a historical sci-fi fantasy, “Empire of the Moon,” next, and quickly followed it with a dystopian political techno thriller, “The Liberty Algorithm.” I plan to publish both in 2026.
But that’s just the beginning!
I started writing at 50 and plan to publish 20 novels by 75. Is it possible? Will I be able to accomplish this, or will dementia kick in before that?
I invite you to go on this journey with me.
Let’s find out what happens together!
